Equality and diversity
At Action for Children, equality is important. It's
about making sure everyone who uses our services and who works for
us, has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and has the
experience of feeling included, respected and valued for who they
are, regardless of their age, disability, gender, gender identity,
race, religion, belief or sexual orientation.
That's why we're committed to promoting equality, valuing
diversity and working inclusively in all our planning and
operations. It's part of how we're able to offer the best support
to the most vulnerable and neglected children, young people and
their families.
Our commitment to equality and diversity is part of everything we
do. This helps to define our actions, behaviour and practices - as
an employer, service provider and campaigning organisation.
Promoting equality
We're against all forms of discrimination and intolerance across
our offices and services. In fact, we work proactively to identify
barriers to people accessing to our employment opportunities and
service provision. We do this through a combination of
consultation, impact assessment, monitoring, reporting and action
planning.

and equality.
Monitoring diversity
We monitor the diversity of our workforce and service users. The
information we collect helps us to:
- Develop and improve our services and practices.
- Build and maintain equality of opportunity and diversity across
Action for Children for the benefit of staff, volunteers and
service users.
- Demonstrate our commitment to promoting equality and valuing
and respecting diversity in everything we do as an employer and
service provider.

commitment to equality and diversity:
Our equality scheme
To help us achieve best practice in equality and diversity,
we've developed a three-year equality scheme to enable us to
develop and improve our systems, process, policies and practices
over time.
