Trapped - episode 1

Joanne Mass 7 October 2008

Here’s something that caught my eye. Some of our young people from Knowsley Family Intervention project have teamed up with BBC writersroom to create this fantastic online drama – Trapped.

Jade (11), Jake (14) and Chelsea (14) have worked with TV script writer Lucia Haynes (of BBC1's Doctors fame) to create the animation.

Having premiered at FACT (the Foundation for Art & Creative Technology) and on www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool08, you can enjoy it right here.

Trapped explores the consequences when four teenage friends decide to break into and explore their old school, which is due to be knocked down.

It’s been a real team effort – with help from animators at Liverpool John Moores University, emerging young acting talent from Liverpool who voiced the characters, the BBC writersroom’s Project Manager for the North of England – Katherine Beacon – who produced it, and development funding support awarded by Northwest Vision and Media.
