Byte Night 2011

What is Byte Night?
Byte Night is an annual sleep-out in support of
Action for Children, raising awareness and funds to help tackle the
root causes of youth homelessness in the UK.
This year in October, over 800 sleepers across the UK braved the
cold to sleep outside so others don't have to.
It's been going 14 years, and has been a fantastic success!
So far, Byte Night has:
- helped to keep thousands of young people off the
streets
- helped to build better lives with secure
accommodation, education and training opportunities
- seen sleepers and amounts raised increase year on
year, with over 800 sleepers raising £650,000 last
year!

Thank you to everyone who slept out at Byte Night
2011 and have helped to raise an amazing £650,000 so far for Action
for Children!
We are delighted to report that Byte Night 2011 has been the
most successful Byte Night to date raising over £650,000 to date
across the UK, which is £200,000 more than at this time last year.
Money is still rolling in so watch this space for more updates as
the total keeps on climbing.
On Friday 7th October 2011 over 800 people from the IT and
business community slept out in Cambridge, London, Scotland and
Thames Valley to raise vital funds for Action for Children to help
tackle the root causes of youth homelessness.
We would like to thank all our sleepers who braved the cold and
sometimes wet conditions to sleep out and help to ensure that young
people don't have to. Not only have you helped to keep thousands of
young people off the streets, you have also helped them to build
better lives with secure accommodation, education and training
opportunities.
Video Thank You
For those who slept out, on the night you heard from a young
person called Janet on the Byte Night film, who had been helped by
Action for Children at a time when she was at greatest risk of
becoming homeless. Janet's future is now a bright and happy one
thanks to support of people like you. Click here to see a few words from Janet.
Action for Children has made a commitment to be there for
vulnerable children and young people for as long as it takes. Your
support has and will continue to make a substantial
impact on the lives of young people who desperately need help
and support.
