Gift aid

Young -children -sitting -at -round -table -playingYour donation could be worth even more to us thanks to the government's Gift Aid scheme which allows us to reclaim the tax that you have paid on your donation if you are a UK taxpayer at no extra cost to you.

You must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax in each year (6th April one year to 5th April the next) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that Action for Children will reclaim on your gifts for that year. Council tax and VAT do not apply.

Tax claimed by Action for Children:

  • Action for Children will reclaim 28p of tax on every £1 you gave up to 5 April 2008.
  • Action for Children will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 you give on or after 5 April 2011.
  • The Government will pay to Action for Children an additional 3p on every £1 you give between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011. This transitional relief for Action for Children does not affect your personal tax position.
