Dobbies Christmas campaign
Dobbies Garden Centres has chosen Action for
Children as their National Christmas Charity of the
Year.
They aim to raise £30,000 for Action for Children through a
variety of in store activities and events, so find your local
Dobbies store to help support vulnerable and neglected children
this Christmas.
Dobbies Wish Tree
From 13th October to 24th December 2011 Dobbies Wish tree is a
Christmas tree in all Dobbies centres that allows customers to
place a Christmas wish. Each store sells "wish baubles" to
customers for a minimum donation of £1 to Action for Children. The
wish baubles include a design on one side incorporating Dobbies'
charity partnership information and are blank on the other to allow
you to write your Christmas wish.
Santa arrives!
This is THE event in the Dobbies calendar, and creates a
magical day for all. Including Santa's arrival, a parade with local
community organisations and even local theatre involvement.
Santa takes up residence in his Dobbies grotto for the Christmas
period after this event.
The event takes place on Saturday 19th November
at 11.30am at Dobbies in Chesterfield, Dunfermline,
Lisburn, Preston, Shepton and Stirling, and Sunday 20th
November at 11.30am at all other stores (Santa needs a bit of
time to get around the country).
Winter Wonderland
Bringing to life the magic of a
traditional family Christmas in Dobbies stores, Winter Wonderland
will be a series of Christmas events and static attractions to
establish Dobbies Garden World Melville and Atherstone as THE
Christmas family destination in your area.
Each site will include a big Christmas tree, live nativity,
Christmas forest leading to Santa's grotto and a full Christmas
events programme incorporating local community performances,
reindeer experiences and live music all raising funds for Action
for Children!
The official Christmas lights switch-on (with a local celebrity
TBC) will be on Sunday 27th November, where fireworks and live
music will make it an event to remember.
Dobbies Farm Foodhall presents… Festive Fayre
This event will help Dobbies' customers create the perfect
Christmas feast through sampling of products, live interactive
talks and themed hampers available on the evening.
Ideally you'll will come away from this event knowing how to
cook the perfect Christmas dinner, what food and drink to serve at
a Christmas party and plenty of Christmas gift ideas. The event
will also raise money for Action for Children through ticket
sales and fundraising in-store. Come along from 5pm - 8pm on
selected Thursdays in November and December.
