Responding to the BMA’s Growing up in the UK report, Action for Children, who contributed research, calls for more early intervention to support vulnerable families.
Policy Manager Emma Scowcroft said:
New statistics highlight that we need to do more to recognise and support young carers.
As the latest unemployment figures are announced by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) today, Action for Children says that more needs to be done for vulnerable young people, particularly those with no or poor qualifications.
Action for Children is on tour this Foster Care Fortnight (May 13 – 26, 2013) with artwork created by some of the hundreds of children and young people we currently support through our fostering projects.
