  • Social workers and police 'powerless' to intervene in cases of neglect, warns Action for Children

    Over a third (37%) (1) of social workers and police officers have felt powerless to intervene in cases where they have suspected a child is being neglected. When asked what needs to happen to ensure suspected cases of child neglect are dealt with more effectively, half (50%) stated the need for earlier intervention, new research published by Action for Children reveals today (Wednesday 26 May).
