Put a spring in your step with next season's trends

21 February 2012

Aberdonians with a passion for fashion can sneak a peek of spring's key trends at an exclusive charity fashion show at the city's chic Carmelite Hotel.

The fashion show is being held to raise money for children's charity, Action for Children Scotland. Leading retailer John Lewis is sponsoring the event, assisted by Toni & Guy hairdressing and Yves Saint Laurent cosmetics. Local favourite Gavin Gourlay will host the evening, whilst Aberdeen-based firm, AVC Media Enterprises Ltd, is supplying the catwalk and managing the lighting and sound to ensure that fashionistas in Aberdeen will experience a night to remember.

Hilary Canto, from Action for Children Scotland's fundraising team, said: "Staff from John Lewis Aberdeen are back to reveal the department store's new designer brand collections for spring. Our autumn/winter show was a huge success, raising £3,500 to help Scotland's most vulnerable children, young people and their families. This spring we are very pleased to be able to bring Aberdeen's trend-setters another sneak peek of the season's fashions - and we hope to raise even more vital funds to support our services."

The event is being held at Carmelite, in Aberdeen's Merchant Quarter, on 4 April 2012. Guests will be treated to a pre-show buffet at the hotel, and will have the chance to win fabulous prizes in an exclusive raffle - including a portrait session with expert photographer Robert Kerr at IMS Photos; and a pamper day for two at John Lewis.

Pam Calder, Leisure and Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator for John Lewis Aberdeen, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to support Action for Children Scotland, preview our spring collection, and enjoy a fabulous night out at Carmelite. Seats for the event have been selling fast so I would urge anyone who would like to attend to reserve their place as soon as possible to avoid losing out in the style stakes!"

Graeme McGuire, Operations Manager at AVC Media Enterprises, added: "We are very pleased to assist the fashion show, which will help Action for Children Scotland to continue to support Scotland's most vulnerable children and young people to fulfill their potential, and make the most of their lives."

Action for Children Scotland's spring fashion show takes place on 4 April 2012 at Aberdeen's Carmelite hotel.
