Fun day out for disabled youngsters in Caerphilly
8 August 2012
Disabled youngsters in Caerphilly are set to enjoy a fun day out
thanks to Action for Children. The charity appealed for big-hearted
supporters to contribute to the trip to a local soft play centre
via its website my.actionforchildren.org.uk.
The My Action for Children website enables the public to choose
exactly where and what their money goes towards, helping either an
Action for Children project close to home - or close to their
heart. It's simple to donate, simply log on to
my.actionforchildren.org.uk, put in your postcode and decide who
and where to help.
It's possible to contribute as little as £2 towards a football kit
or dancing lessons for young carers, or more towards a washing
machine to help disabled children.
Caerphilly Children's Centre works with local disabled children and
their families offering a range of services - including medical
support, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language
therapy, and parent support groups.
Nina Rice, Action for Children Community Fundraiser, said:
"Like most good ideas, my.actionforchildren.org.uk is very
simple. Our staff work in more than 130 projects across Wales and
they know the specific things that will make a real difference
locally. Anyone can log on and choose to give local children
something that many, luckier, children take for granted."
