Adventurers wanted for Snowdon Challenge
2 July 2012
Budding adventurers from across Wales are invited to take up the
Action for Children Snowdon Challenge on 22 September 2012.
The annual event sees intrepid participants trek through stunning
scenery to the 3,560 feet high summit of Snowdon - the highest
place in Wales - to raise vital funds for Action for Children's
work with vulnerable and disadvantaged children.
Nina Rice, Action for Children Community Fundraiser, said: "Our
Snowdon Challenge is a fantastic, safe and inspiring experience,
and a day out you will never forget. We are keen to hear from
individuals, families and groups who would like help us make this
special event an amazing success."
She added: "Anyone can take part in the event - you don't have
to be super fit or of a certain age. In previous years we've had
people in their 70s who enjoyed walking the route at their own
pace."
No experience is necessary, as all trekkers will be fully supported
by the Action for Children team and its partners, Snowdonia
Adventures.
Participants pay a £30 fee on registration and are asked to
raise at least £120 in sponsorship. They will receive a pack with
fundraising tips.
This year Action for Children is offering a choice of two routes
up Snowdon - the Llanberis route and PYG track.
