Action for Children statement in response to the Scottish Government's new parenting strategy

Carol Iddon, Director of Children's Services at Action for Children, said: "The new parenting strategy announced by the Scottish Government could transform the lives of families in Scotland and put the country at the forefront of parenting across the world.

"The Scottish Government must be applauded for its modern approach, consulting parents and families - including some of the country's most vulnerable - to develop a package of support that will have a real impact.

"At Action for Children Scotland we already provide a range of services which combine the best elements of intensive family support and other evidence-based programmes, aimed at the country's most vulnerable families. We hope to continue working with the Scottish Government to support the implementation of the parenting strategy and help to ensure that all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential."
