Adoption Black Families
Adoption Black Families is an exciting
and innovative adoption service that was developed in
2003.
Our service
The service was set up in response to the growing number
of black and minority ethnic children waiting to be
adopted in the care system.
It is widely documented that there is a shortage of
black and minority ethnic adopters coming forward to
adopt. To address this shortage, we seek to recruit adopters who
would be able to meet the needs and promote the
identities of children from similar backgrounds.
Our team
Adoption Black Families has a passionate and dedicated team that
reflects the ethnic diversity of the families we work with. We have
expertise in assessing adopters from a range of minority
backgrounds and are pioneers in providing a specialist
service that includes ongoing support and
training.
Who we support
We work with a variety of families from a range of ethnic
backgrounds, including couples in racially mixed
partnerships. While we realise that an exact racial match
is not always possible, we strive to respect identity and
heritage when matching adopters with children.
At Adoption Black Families, we are actively involved in
promoting adoption in the black and minority ethnic communities. If
you believe you can offer a child a nurturing and stable home,
please contact us. We will be happy to discuss
adoption with you.
