Why choose us
We believe that children are at the heart of everything
we do. Since 1869, we have been making a positive difference to the
most vulnerable children and young people.
Although our history is important to us, the support we provide
today to the children, young people and their carers is what makes
us different. Our determination and passion has enabled us to find
homes for thousands of the most difficult to place children.
There are many reasons to choose us, including:
Helping you at every stage of the process
We believe a successful match is fuelled by the support we
provide both during and after the adoption process. From the
initial stages of making an application right through to the final
assessment, Action for Children will support you at every stage of
the process.
Finding the right placement
Because of our close links with many local authorities and
related organisations, we can use our wealth of contacts to find
the right placement for the child and you. With consent and careful
consideration, we can refer you to our specialist contacts
including the Adoption Register, local authorities, BAAF and
Adoption UK.
Support when and where you need it for as long as it takes
Action for Children helps place some of the UK's most vulnerable
children with people like you to help them achieve more and become
and grow into confident, happy adults. They are often in need of a
great deal of love and attention to help them adjust to stable
family life. This is why we take training and support very
seriously, offering to be 'be there' for our families for as long
as they need us.
Our support includes:
- Visiting you regularly
- Advocating for you
- Making sure you receive all the services you should be
receiving
- Giving you advice on financial support
- Providing you with continual support and further training
- Making sure you can keep in touch with other adopters
- Inviting you to social events to adopters
