Specialist and intensive residential childcare services
Understanding the behaviour, social and
offending issues of vulnerable young people is important to
us.
So, we offer specialist and intensive services that aim to do
just that. Intensive individual support is the key to understanding
these issues. That's what our tailored and robust programmes
provide. They work in partnership to focus on helping young people
and their families integrate into their own communities.
All this improves the prospects of the young person. By focusing
on educational achievements, health and social inclusion we can
make positive changes in the young person's life.
Action for Children Scotland Intensive Supervised Structured
Care (ISSC) service
Based in Ayrshire, this service is an innovative, community-based
alternative to secure care or specialist residential care. It
offers five residential beds in a close support unit as well as
alternative family placements from specialist foster carers.
By providing a safe, structured and homely environment, the
project ensures children and young people have access to flexible,
needs-led support. Individual and structured care plans incorporate
a range of support methods. These include offence-focused
intervention, individual and group work programmes of social care,
life skills and education/training, and intensive and supervised
staff support for every young person.
