Tafarn Newydd Family Centre
Tafarn Newydd Family Centre assists
in the development of disabled children and young people and helps
to support their parents.
At the centre, disabled children and young people are loved,
looked after, listened to, and have the opportunity to learn
through play.
Individual nurture
In a way that's best for each child and young person, the centre
helps them to achieve their full potential, encouraging confidence,
building up skills and providing positive role models.
Parents can help their children develop through play and join
support groups, as well as get high-quality information and
advice.
Time away together on Saturdays gives the older children a
chance to socialise with friends and helps to prepare them to live
more independently, and at the same time gives their parents a
valuable 'short break'.
A lasting difference
Seeing the children walk, talk, paint or play for the very first
time makes all the hard work of centre staff worthwhile. The number
of parents who want to volunteer at the centre after their child
has left and pitch in to support other mums and dads shows
just how much the work of the centre matters to the community.
Through projects like Tafarn Newyyd Family Centre, we want to make
sure disabled children are not disadvantaged and have every chance
to live life to the full.
