What can I do about child neglect?

If the child you are concerned about is already involved with the Social Care department then you can ring them at any time and share your concerns. It might be you have vital information that they need to help them act.

If you are already involved with Social Care, Action for Children cannot directly intervene but you may still find useful information here that can help you, especially:

If you are a parent or carer and feel you or the people you care for would like further help and advice, there are a number of options you can choose from and Action for Children may also be able to help.
If you are a child or young person (up to the age of 21) concerned about your own situation or that of another child, see what you can do in the first instance to help.
If you are a non-carer ie with no direct responsibility or relationship to the child, but you still have cause for concern and are unsure what to do next, you may find these questions and answers useful.
