Childcare and early years education
Helping children to develop and reach their full
potential is what we strive for.
That's why the Early Years Foundation Stage is at the heart of
our children's and family centres services. Through it we provide
outstanding child development, learning and childcare
services.
Our free, part-time early education places for all three and four
year olds in our children's centre catchment areas give children a
real head start. By offering the right early years education, we
can help them thrive later in life.
Every weekday between 8am and 6pm our children's centres also
offer free childcare for all children aged three to 14.
All of our services are based on the values of the Early
Years Foundation Stage:
- Every child is unique, with the ability to learn and develop
confidence and resilience from birth.
- Loving and secure relationships with parents and/or a key
person play an important role in enabling children to become strong
and independent.
- A child's ability to develop and learn is heavily influenced by
their environment.
- Children develop and learn in different ways and at different
rates.
- All areas of learning and development are equally important and
interconnected.
