Growing Our Strengths
Improving outcomes for children, young people and
families
Action for Children is working in partnership with Action
for Prisoners' Families, the Family
and Parenting Institute and Family
Action in an exciting new project for the voluntary community
sector.
Funded by the Department For Education until March 2013, this
project is just one of a number of new initiatives funded
specifically to ensure there is a vibrant market of
effective service providers able to work skillfully with
vulnerable families.
By offering the right type of support at the earliest stage
possible, we can help prevent family problems from
escalating.
Growing our Strengths has a very specific and unique place in this
new range of projects. It helps provide a dynamic opportunity for
the voluntary and community sectors across the whole of the UK to
get together and share both our knowledge and skills.
This enables us to learn from each other about outcomes
and best practices in early intervention work and services
for families.
