Joe - fostering2

Joe came into care when he was 13, by the time he came to us at 15 he had experienced 9 placements in just 2 years. He's now supported by our Intensive Fostering Programme based in Fareham.

He had got in with the wrong crowd and was using drugs. After committing several offences he was involved in a Category A offence. Joe told us:

“I was facing custody but thankfully I was given the opportunity of Intensive Fostering. I took full responsibility for the offence and though I felt angry in court, I am grateful for where my life is now going.

"AFC helped me to get a job, which has now turned into a 2 year apprenticeship, they have helped me to develop life and social skills, a positive attitude and build my confidence. I have been given positive opportunities to further build my confidence and social skills"

“Without Action for Children, I would be in custody, where I would have gone down the wrong path. I wouldn’t care, I would think I was hard and I would be an idiot and I think I would have got into fights and have gotten beaten up. Action for Children has prevented this from happening"

As well as turning his life around, Joe is now a Young Ambassador for us and loves wakeboarding with his friends.

Do something life changing. Foster.
