    To help you to find out a bit more about fostering and an opportunity for us to find out a bit about your circumstances and how fostering might work or you. It’s informal and the perfect time to ask us questions, and hopefully will give you a better

    Home visit

    Next, we’ll come and visit you (and your partner if you’re in a relationship) at home. We’ll have a chat about the practicalities of fostering. This is a great opportunity to get to know you and your situation better.

    Training

    All our potential foster carers are invited to a three-day preparation course. The training covers the essentials, helps you prepare for fostering, and raises questions that we’ll talk about during the assessment.

    Assessment

    You’ll fill in your application form to start your assessment. You’ll get regular visits from a social worker who’ll assess your skills to be a foster carer and our goal is to complete your assessment in 6 months.
