Gap has been working in partnership with Action for Children since 2008, during which time they have supported our employability programme for disadvantaged young people.

GAP sq

The aim of the programme is to equip vulnerable young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET) in England and Wales with the practical skills they need to improve their confidence and get into the job market.

Throughout the partnership Gap staff have also supported Action for Children in a variety of other ways. Gap stores provide work taster sessions for NEET young people who are taking part in our employability programme. This gives them the opportunity to put the skills learnt in the programme into practice in a work environment and helps to ensure that Gap’s funding has an even greater impact on their chances of securing future employment.

This year Gap launched our first cause related marketing produce together whereby Gap donated £1.50 from every gift box sold over the Christmas period which raised a fantastic £20,000 for our vital services.

Gap employees also volunteer at our projects and raise funds to help Action for Children deliver our services to vulnerable young people in local communities across the UK.  This includes local gift drives where staff donate Christmas gifts to disadvantaged children utilising Action for Children services in their local community.

Gap has been a fantastic supporter of Action for Children, raising money and awareness of our work. We are very proud to have their ongoing support which has enabled us to make a profound and lasting difference to the lives of the children and young people we support.
