People kept telling me I was mad as I’m terrified of heights, but I was determined to show no fear and raise as much money as I can for the families Action for Children supports

FAQs

Can anyone take part?

Almost! To take part in a tandem jump, you must:

  • Be over 16 years old (parent/guardian permission needed for 16-18 year olds)
  • Weigh no more than 15 stone.

There is no upper age limit, although if you are over 40, you will need your doctor to sign a Declaration of Fitness form, which will be sent to you on registration.

What if I'm afraid of heights?

This is probably the most commonly asked question. A fear of heights can often be confused with a natural and healthy respect for the inherent dangers of high places. This respect is essential to survival!

What about insurance?

All jumpers will be covered by the Skydive Centre’s Public Liability insurance for up to £5 million liability to third parties. However, this does not cover you or your dependents for personal injury (including death). We would strongly advise that you arrange personal accident insurance for your skydive by contacting Skydive Centre on 0845 130 7194 or by consulting an Independent Financial Advisor or Insurance Broker.

How will I raise my sponsorship?

You don’t just have to rely on friends and family to help raise your sponsorship. What about organising your own event, a raffle, or perhaps a coffee morning at work? Many companies do match funding, instantly doubling the amount you can raise. There’s no need to chase around for sponsorship either – just set up your own personalised fundraising webpage with Virgin Money Giving where people can donate online quickly and easily. Once you’ve registered, we’ll send you a fundraising pack full of hints and tips and your local fundraiser will be in touch to offer you any support you need.
