Community Swap 'n' Shop

Community Swap 'n' Shop within our services is an initiative that builds community spirit, inspires individual development and promotes positive engagement.

We all know money is tight and kids seem to grow overnight.  The shops give families the chance to swap new and pre-loved donated clothing, shoes or accessories and offer them for re-sale. Those who donate can choose to receive tokens in return which can be used to buy other items from the ‘shop’ or simply swap an item. This provides a valuable local resource for the families near our services.

You can achieve a qualification whilst having fun.

Parent volunteers, run the shops. This not only offers the chance to develop practical and life skills of parents and young people but they can take a free, formal qualification whilst they are having fun doing it.

The Award in Progression qualification is achieved through a portfolio of evidence put together by the trainer with support from the programme lead.

Walsham mum of two, Tina, 35, said: "Community Swap 'n' Shop, has helped me personally with confidence building through meeting different people and other volunteers.
