Dorset Children’s Rights Service provides a number of services to children and young people

Advocacy

Advocacy offers one to one support/representation for children and young people in care, Care Leavers and Children in Need and is provided by team of trained advocates.

Advocates support children and young people with specific issues they have. Advocates attend meetings either with or for young people to ensure that they have a voice and that their views are taken into account when decisions are being made.

We can also offer support if a young person would like to make a complaint.

Independent Visitors

Action for Children recruit, train and supervise a team of volunteers who work in a mentoring and befriending role and on a one to one basis with children and young people in care who have little or no contact with their birth families.
