Dereham Children's Centre

Our Children's centres play an essential role in giving children and families the early support they need.

We are open to your whole community on a regular basis. We work in partnership with other agencies such as health visitors, midwives and local schools.

To help under-fives get ready for school our services include: child and family health services; parenting programmes and antenatal support; early year’s education services, such as ‘stay and play’ sessions; speech and language support and family learning.

In addition we offer support for parents with adult learning and employment support. This may include language, literacy and numeracy support, family learning, access to apprenticeships and volunteering opportunities as steps toward employment and links to Jobcentre Plus. This is supported by good quality, inclusive childcare.

Get in touch with your local centre to see what’s on or download our activity programme here.

Please note: it is Action for Children's policy to not allow any use of mobile phones during our sessions or in either Dereham or Litcham Children's Center public areas. We appreciate there may be times that you will need to make a call or receive a call. IF this is the case then please can you leave the room/Center to take the call, ensuring that your children are with you and safely cared for. During sessions please keep mobiles in your bag. Staff facilitating our sessions are able to take photos of your little ones enjoying activities and you are able to have one of our "Special Books" to put them in and track your child's developmental journey with your Children's Centre. The use of mobiles within our Centre's and sessions shall be monitored by all staff and if anyone is found to be using mobiles whilst in the Centre or attending an activity, you will be respectfully challenged. Thank you for your co-operation.
