Summer is in full swing (even if the weather does't always agree) and what better way to enjoy it than trying our delicious and healthy recipes that you and your kids will love.

The team at our Basingstoke Childrens Centres have chosen their three favourite quick and easy summer recipes. Give them a go - we'd love to see what brilliant creations you and your children come up with!

Fruit juice lollies

What you'll need:

  • Cordial or fresh fruit juice
  • Ice lolly moulds

Method:

Dilute your cordial or fresh fruit juice to about half and half with water (or lemonade for a treat), pour into your ice lolly mould, freeze and enjoy!

What you'll need:

  • Bananas
  • Lolly sticks
  • Peanut butter or chocolate spread

Method:

Cut a banana in half and push a lolly stick into the cut end of each half, spread with peanut butter or chocolate spread (or another topping of your choice), wrap in greaseproof paper and freeze.

Strawberry smoothie

What you'll need:

  • 10 strawberries (a couple less or a couple more depending on the size)
  • 120g natural yoghurt (about 1 small pot)
  • 1 banana (the riper it is the sweeter it will be)

Method:

Whizz up all the ingredients in a food processor (or with a hand blender) to make a delicious smoothie - serve straight away.
