Science Fun: baking soda volcano!

Posted by / Friday 09 September 2016 / Activities

Having fun with science helps develop your child; learn how to set goals; plan and understand problem-solving, all great for getting on at school.

To make your own baking soda volcano, you will need the following items

  • a plastic cup or bottle
  • play dough
  • half a cup water
  • sachet of bicarbonate of soda
  • splash of washing up liquid
  • 1/4 of a cup of white vinegar
  • cloth (just in case!)

Watch Sophie (and some helpers) from one of our services to show you how easy it is.

The Government’s Life Chances strategy is in development. Investing in children under 5 is the best way to ensure their future wellbeing and success.

In the most deprived areas of England, three out of five children walk through the school gates on their first day not ready to learn. Action for Children is committed to making sure every child has the love, support and opportunity to reach their potential.
