Be Professionally Curious!

Guidance to support the police and other professionals spot signs of neglect early.

Action for Children co-chairs the National Multi Agency Child Neglect Strategic Work Group alongside the Association of Chief Police Officers to offer a unified professional voice, mutual support, and expert advice to professionals so that neglected children get the help they need.

This guidance co-produced by members of the group, and leading academics will support professionals to identify signs of neglect early, as well as to understand recent changes in the law. It sets out why it is important for professionals to be curious, be alert to warning signs, and act collaboratively to share intelligence. Responding effectively to child neglect needs to be a shared responsibility and the guidance is helpful in any professional context.
