Getting a fair deal for young people in Wales

Improving the financial skills of vulnerable young people.

All young people are vulnerable with money. But some young people are more vulnerable than others. Young parents, young carers, looked after children and care leavers face additional challenges, like caring for relatives or living independently at a young age. As a result, they may miss school, have low self-esteem and they don’t find it easy to trust adults, so managing money becomes a bigger challenge. These young people need additional support to become financially capable and to live independently and successfully.

We spoke to young people in Wales to find out what the Welsh Government can do to address this problem. Find out what young people have asked in our report A Fair Deal for Young People in Wales”.
