Leave a gift in your will

A gift in your will could help transform a child’s life

Imagine that. You could keep a child safe. Make sure they’re healthy and happy. And help them to achieve incredible things.

Last year, over 20% of the donations we received came from gifts in wills. This helped us change the lives of 765,906 children, young people and their families. There’s still so much more work to be done.

So if you're wondering why to leave a gift in your will, know that gifts in wills help make sure support is there when it’s needed. No matter the size of a gift, you’ll be helping vulnerable children. Leaving even a small percentage (a residuary legacy) will go a long way. These gifts are inflation proof and exempt from inheritance tax.

For vulnerable children, we’re family. And you can be too. Now, and for generations to come.

Your legacy could transform a child’s life

Leave a gift in your will

Growing up I witnessed horrendous domestic abuse, which has impacted me my whole life. That’s why I decided to leave a legacy to Action for Children - because I don’t want other children to experience what I did. I want children to be safe and loved.

4.3 million children in the UK live in poverty. It’s completely unacceptable. But a gift in your will could help us reach these children. By providing vital funds to keep our services running and thriving.

Your gift will go where it’s needed most. It’ll give children the best possible start, protect them from harm and make sure they have a loving place to call home.

Making an unrestricted gift like this means your legacy will help where the need is greatest. But if you prefer, you can leave a gift to a project close to your heart.

Last year, gifts in wills helped 72,937 children and families in our children’s centres. This is just one example of our crucial services. Any size gift can make a difference.

FAQs

If you’ve already left a gift to NCH

If you left a gift to NCH/National Children’s Home before we became Action for Children, don’t worry. Most professional executors confirm details with the Charity Commission, so your gift will still reach us.

For your peace of mind, you may like to note the change in a codicil form. Attach this to your will and give a copy to your solicitor.
