Daleep Mukarji, OBE


Dr Daleep Mukarji OBE was appointed as a Trustee in October 2014. Daleep was born and raised in India, where he trained as a medical doctor. Daleep retired as Director of Christian Aid after leading the organisation’s campaigns on Jubilee 2000 Debt Relief, Make Poverty History, climate change, and tax and development.

Daleep is a member of the Court of Governors of the London School of Economics and a Board member of the Maria Montessori Training Institute. He was previously a member of the Board of the London Metropolitan University, the Vice President of the Methodist Church 2013-14 and the Chair of Y Care International.

In 2005 Daleep was nominated as one of the 100 most influential Asians in Britain. In 2008 he was awarded an OBE in recognition of a career dedicated to the alleviation of poverty. Daleep lives in North London.
