Our youth justice and intensive family support services help young people who have been identified as being involved in or at risk of offending.

We offer the courts and children’s services high-quality support, providing constructive alternatives to custody for young offenders and substance abusers.

What we offer

Intensive support to reduce the number of young people who have become involved in serious and persistent offending

Alternatives to custody to provide high-quality, robust community alternatives which reduce offending

Remand youth justice fostering to provide intensive fostering support for young people who would otherwise be in custody or secure care

Voluntary throughcare/resettlement to provide support to young people who are in or have recently been released from custody, to minimise the likelihood of them re-offending

Access to employment to re-engage young people farthest from the labour market with employment

Diversionary services to support young people to make positive life choices, diverting them away from anti-social behaviour

Styal Mother and Baby Unit

Action for Children Mother and Baby Unit at HMP/YOI Styal is a unique, supportive environment in which Mums are encouraged, empowered and inspired to bond with their babies and transform their life chances long term.

This is achieved through a combination of reassuring ad-hoc parenting support, targeted intervention work and high quality nursery provision.
