A construction-based programme offering young people an avenue into sustained employment
This 4-week programme focuses on training young people aged 16-24 who are interested and/or working in the construction sector who face a range of barriers that prevent them from entering and sustaining employment.
The programme will develop and improve various skills and qualities such as social skills, teamwork, communication, employability skills, and more. Young people will take part in a range of personal development workshops such as drugs and alcohol, offending, sexual health, and independent travel.
Within the programme, participants will take part in both sector specific practical and theoretical sessions. Some of these include:
- Budgeting
- Manual Handling
- Safety Awareness
- Working at Height
- Small Plant & Tools
- Green CSCS Labourer Card
- Abrasive Wheels & PASMA
- Vehicle Reversing Marshall
- UKATA CAT A – Asbestos Awareness
- REHIS – Health & Safety in a Construction Environment
- Employability Sessions (CV, employer expectations & interviews)
All participants will be allocated a key worker who will support them throughout the programme and for up to 6 months after the programme’s end, depending on individual's needs.
