Fees and allowances
We want you to know that you can afford to care for a child.
Alongside our comprehensive support, we also offer a competitive fee and allowance package ensuring that you can afford to provide a safe and loving home for a young person.
Action for Children Fostering provides carers a competitive, weekly fee and an allowance. This ranges from £429-£791 depending on your location and the type of fostering that you do.
There are specialist add-on fee payments for carers looking after children with complex needs. This add-on is assessed by the service against a set of criteria. The fee you receive will vary if you’re fostering siblings.
Action for Children Fostering also provides a range of free activities and get togethers during the school holidays. Fun days out and support groups are a great way to get to know other foster families while trying something different and making happy memories.
All foster carers must become registered with HM Customs & Revenue (HMRC) as self-employed.
