Easy indoor growing 🌱
You’ll get seeds for plants that are easy to grow, with simple instructions your child can follow. You don't even need a garden! Grow cress, basil, lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and sunflowers.
Nature crafts 🐝
Your child will have some easy crafts to try at home, including making a bug hotel and a birdfeeder. Your pack will also include lots of other activities and recipes inspired by what your child is growing.

Each pack is inspired by Eric Carle’s timeless classic, 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar™'. First published in 1969, the story continues to captivate children more than 50 years later.

Your monthly donation will support vulnerable children in the UK. We’ll share stories in each pack to show how your donation makes a difference, so you can teach your child the importance of helping others. By growing together, we can help give children a safe and happy childhood 💖

Just choose how much you'd like to donate monthly to Action for Children and how you'd like to pay. Paypal, Direct Debit or Apple Pay work!
2. Get your first pack 💌
You’ll get your first pack within five weeks of signing up. We’ll send you a pack for each season throughout the year.
Note: Even though you're signing up to a monthly donation, packs are only delivered every three months.
3. Start growing and sharing!
Join our growing community and show us your little ones in action. Share the results of your growing efforts or crafts using the hashtag #GrowingChallenge. The best pictures will get posted on our social channels (with your permission).

What does Action for Children do?
We protect and support children and young people across. We do this by providing practical and emotional care and support. We make sure their voices are heard. And we campaign to bring lasting improvements to their lives.
Today, we run 426 services in local communities across the UK, in schools, and online.
In our nurseries and children's centres, staff make sure children get the best start in life. Our foster and modern residential services find children and young people safe and loving homes.
We step in to protect children from neglect and abuse and help those who care for others or are at risk of homelessness. Innovative projects like The Blues Programme give young people the help they need to look after their mental health.
We're also here for parents, through projects like Parent Talk, our online support service.
Where your money goes
Your donations help us to support vulnerable children, young people and their families in the UK.
85p of every £1* we spend goes directly towards helping children, young people and their families. We make sure that every penny you donate goes where it will have the greatest impact on children’s lives. Donations from this campaign will be unrestricted and used by Action for Children for its general charitable purposes. That means they’re not spent on one project or one specific area of the UK, but where the need is greatest.
*Figure based on audited 2022/23 charity accounts that exclude subsidiary companies like commercial nurseries.
Why regular donations matter
Donating a small amount every month by direct debit helps us give vulnerable children the stability they need. Our regular supporters help us carry out long-term work and keep vital projects running.
When will I receive my packs?
You’ll get your first pack within five weeks of signing up. After that, your packs will be sent once your first, fourth, eight and eleventh payments have been processed. That’s one pack every 3 months or so. Your monthly donation will then continue but you can cancel or change it at any time.
