At Action for Children we’re a family. We always have been. Ever since our founder, Reverend Dr Thomas Bowman Stephenson found two boys sheltering under the arches of Waterloo Station in 1869, and dedicated his life to helping vulnerable children.
A lot has changed since 1869. But our ambition – to give children safe and happy childhoods – shines just as bright. We’re honouring our heritage by looking back at where we started.
Throughout his life, Reverend Dr Stephenson promised to work “in the service of the children”. His legacy is the beating heart of Action for Children’s work. But we can’t do it without your help.
