Brad Kella's Fostering Journey

When Brad Kella was fostered, he could never have imagined where life would take him. Today, he is winner of Series 2 of The Piano, a proud father and has achieved a number one single in the Classical Charts.

But Brad says none of it would have happened without his foster carers who believed in him.

That's why Brad is supporting Action for Children Fostering to share his story and raise awareness of the incredible impact foster carers can have. By speaking about his own experiences, he hopes to inspire more people to consider fostering and become the turning point in a child or young person's life, just as his foster carers were in his.

“The biggest impact that happened in my life was the first two weeks of being in care. I got to see what a normal family was like. I got to experience what it was like to be round a family table and to go on a family day out.” - Brad

Born and raised in Liverpool, Brad's start in life was far from easy. Like many children in care, he had faced challenges that no child should have to experience.

When he was fostered at the age of seven, everything began to change...

Brad found stability in a loving foster family who believed in him and helped him see a future filled with possibility.

Now many know Brad as the winner of The Piano, but behind the success is a story of how fostering can truly make a positive, life-changing difference to a young person and help them to thrive.
