Michael Long

Reverend Dr Michael Long joined the Board of Trustees at Action for Children in July 2020.

Mike is the Superintendent Minister of the Newham and Forest Circuits in East London.

He has served in a variety of church appointments in London, Surrey and North Wales for 35 years.

He is a member of the Methodist Church’s Connexional Council (its trustee body) and also serves on the Methodist Church’s Joint Advisory Committee on the Ethics of Investment.

Mike chaired Shelter’s commission on Social Housing, which published its report in 2019.

His research interests include theological reflection on a range of social and political issues. These include housing, money and the church’s ministry in marginalised communities.
