Choirs across the UK have come together to spread the magic of Secret Santa

This year, Action for Children teamed up with choirs from all over the country, to wish and sing ‘Merry Christmas’ to children who need the magic of Secret Santa now more than ever.

Action for Children staff reached out far and wide to choirs they had a connection with to share a video singing the festive favourite, ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’. We then merged each performance into a single take. We were thrilled to be able to include some fun outtakes and behind the scenes shots as choirs performed the classic carol.

Our choirs included Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Gymraeg Llantrisant, a Welsh primary school choir, as well as The Royal Albert Hall Staff Choir and The Manchester Vocal Ensemble. They were joined by many others, plus celebrity support from daytime TV’s Dr Ranj who said:

Nearly 4 million children in the UK live in poverty, and this can have huge implications following them well into adulthood. Christmas is a time for kindness and goodwill – and that’s why supporting Action for Children’s Secret Santa appeal is incredibly important to me.

Action for Children believe every child should have a magical Christmas

In 2021/22, Action for Children supported more than 670,000 children, young people and families in the UK. Children and families that were at breaking point with nowhere to turn. We were there for them when they needed us most.

Christmas can be the hardest time of all. You could become a Secret Santa for a vulnerable child and help us put the magic back into Christmas.

Watch and share the video and join us in spreading some festive cheer.

Merry Christmas!

Be a Secret Santa

Many children will wake up on Christmas to no stockings. No presents. No festive food. Your gift could change this.
