Clifton Road is a safe, welcoming home in Aberdeen supporting young people aged 16-21 to build confidence and move towards independent living.

Clifton Road is funded by Aberdeen City Council, and is a warm and welcoming place that offers safety, stability and care.

We use trauma‑informed approaches that put young people’s needs, dignity and wellbeing first.

Here, young people can feel a sense of belonging, build trust, learn positive ways to cope, and grow in confidence in a place where they feel valued and respected.

Our home

Clifton Road can support up to seven young people, with four spaces in the main house.

Located in the grassy back garden are also three bungalows for three young people, which each contain a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area. One of our bungalows is also adapted for a young person with disabilities.

The bungalows provide a step towards independent living, giving young people the opportunity to move into them after building independence during their time in the main house.

How to access the service

Referrals to Clifton Road are led by the Council's Service Manager and an ACC Clinical Practitioner, using a matching assessment to make sure the service is the right fit for the young person.

This is agreed with the Clifton Road Manager before any decision is made, so we that we can be sure that we're able to meet the young people's needs.

Young people will have the chance to visit and can stay overnight before deciding if it feels right for them. Once a decision is made, Clifton Road staff work closely with ACC professionals to support the move.

Before the young person moves in, they will start building a rapport with the keyworkers, so that their transition feels safe and comfortable.
