Wirral HSIS is funded by the Wirral Public Health Service providing support and counselling to young people

We are Action for Children, working in partnership with Wirral schools. We will listen to your thoughts and feelings and help you to express and explore them.

You decide what to say and do – no problem is too big or small. We are here for you.

When you experience strong and powerful feelings it can affect your emotional well-being. Early intervention can help to reduce stress and anxiety. It is then possible for you to learn new coping skills, increase your confidence and feel more positive about your life.

We are here to listen and help you.

No one to talk to?

Are you feeling sad, lonely, frightened, angry or confused? Are you missing a special person? Separated by distance, family breakdown, death of a loved one/pet? Overwhelmed by school pressures, peer pressure and expectations?

Come and talk to us.

How do I get an appointment?

Requests for counselling can be made through your school. Ask the school nurse, a member of staff that you trust or your parent / carer to do it for you.

What about confidentiality? Who will know my business?

Counselling is private so your information will not be passed onto others without your permission unless you or the counsellor believes you, or someone you tell us about, are at risk of significant harm. When there is a serious concern for safety we need to make this a priority and take appropriate action. This usually means involving other services for support.
