Jeremy Newman
Jeremy Newman joined Action for Children as Chair in August 2026.
An experienced chair, trustee and business leader with roles spanning the public, private and charity sectors, Jeremy is passionate about using his experience to lead Action for Children in its work supporting children, young people and families.
Jeremy spent over 30 years at the accountancy firm BDO, starting as a trainee before working his way up to become Global CEO and has also been chair of the Workforce Development Trust.
He has a strong commercial background and a broad understanding of working with both Central and Local Government, alongside his work in a range of charities and not for profit organisations, including the UK's largest housing association Clarion Housing.
He is a former panel member of the Competition and Markets Authority with widespread expertise in providing strategic, financial and commercial advice to organisations on complex projects and transactions.
