Liz Bell

Liz Bell joined the Board of Trustees at Action for Children in April 2026.

Liz is an experienced senior leader who has spent over 30 years working at Board level, alongside a lifelong commitment to supporting people, communities, and fair opportunity.

She is known for her inclusive leadership style and for creating environments where people feel valued, heard, and able to do their best work.

As HR Director at Screwfix, Liz has played a key role around developing people, opening up opportunities for all through apprenticeships and learning programmes.

Earlier in her career, Liz held senior roles at Kingfisher Plc, where she led global talent and development initiatives.

She championed inclusive recruitment and development practices, she supported long term cultural change and helped organisations better reflect the communities they serve.

Alongside her professional career, Liz has dedicated time to public and charitable service.

She spent five years as a Member of the Police Pay Review Body, contributing careful, evidence based judgement on a wide range of issues and she currently serves as a Trustee of the Screwfix Foundation.

A Fellow of the CIPD, Liz is motivated by work that makes a genuine, lasting difference to people’s lives.
