Together we can make a difference: A message from our Chief Executive, Melanie

Melanie Armstrong Chief Executive at Action for Children

As we begin a new year, we reflect on the exceptional year Action for Children has had, and what’s to come

The past few years have been full of uncertainty. It’s hard to believe we’re at the beginning of 2022, where I don’t think any of us thought coronavirus would still be presenting so many challenges.

Despite the trials that came with 2021, it was an exceptional year on so many levels. As an organisation, we dealt with whatever came our way and achieved many great things.

We’ve kept our services running, campaigned and raised money. With your support, we made a difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children, young people and families.

Thanks to you our amazing supporters for your incredible commitment, time and generosity. And thanks too to all our staff who just keep putting everything before themselves.

Melanie Armstrong, CEO, Action for Children

Looking to the year ahead, at Action for Children we want to recognise the star in every child.

Too many childhoods in the UK are overshadowed by abuse and neglect, poverty, and poor mental health. This doesn't just stop children's stars from shining right now - it can have a lifelong impact.

This year, we’re ready to continue working together to help more children have the chance to shine and look forward to a bright future.

I wishing you all the best for a happy and healthy 2022.
