Why not have a Bake sale, and raise valuable funds for Action for Children?

Bake sales and coffee mornings are a great way to raise awareness while having a great time, and our downloadable resources make fundraising a piece of cake (no pun intended!).

Our top tips for a successful bake sale:

  • The more the merrier!

Friends, family or colleagues - Invite everyone you know to your event. Our posters can help you promote your bake sale far and wide.

  • Location, location, location

Promote your event well in advance and choose a busy (but safe) place to hold your bake sale.

  • Stand out from the crowd

Colourful, bold signs are eye catching, combine that with our DIY, downloadable bunting and you will have a bake sale that will definitely catch people’s attention.

  • Variety is important

From vegan cupcakes to gluten-free brownies, making sure there is something for everyone is key to a successful bake sale.

  • Label your items

Use our downloadable labels to make sure your baked goods are labelled properly, especially if there are ingredients like nuts which people could be allergic to!

  • Get the kids involved

Little hands love to bake and it’s a great way to get children involved with fundraising.

  • Small change can make a big difference…

Have a collection box for any extra donations – people can be very generous and it’s easy for the pennies to add up into pounds. Contact your local fundraiser to order a collection box for your event.

  • Be creative!

From offices and school halls, to stalls at a fete, bake sales can be held in many different locations.

  • Ask for help

Don't have time to bake? Ask local businesses or friends, family and colleagues to contribute baked goods for your event.

  • Stay safe

We want to make sure that you have an amazing event that goes off without a hitch, so be sure to contact your local fundraiser before your event to ensure a fun, but safe and legal, day for all.

  • Put your funds to work!

Once you’ve done your thing, our fundraising guide has information on how to pay in your fundraising and put those pennies to work supporting children.

Wherever and however you choose to don your apron in aid of Action for Children, we want to hear about it! Tweet, tag or message us and let us know how your Break for Cake event goes!

Why choose Action for Children?

How Action for Children works: from before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help vulnerable children across the UK. We help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse.
