Want to help but stuck for fundraising ideas?

If you want to help raise money for Action for Children but don’t know how to get started, we are here to help.  The first step is to decide what you want type of thing you want to do and who you want to do it with. Are you taking this challenge solo? Or will your fundraising involve your colleagues, a group of close friends, your children’s school, or even your church congregation? Download one of our guides to get you started.

Or if you'd rather take part in an event that's been organised have a look at our fundraising events.

Raising money online

Even if you don’t spend much time online, a lot of people do! Spread the word so people know what you’re planning. Set up a Facebook event, send out invitations, and message everyone you know.

One of the easiest ways to raise money is by using an online fundraising page – it’s quick, easy and convenient. You can create your own custom page, too. Just click on the links below to visit our pages and start raising funds for children in need:

Make the birthday pledge

Your birthday can turn lives around.

Do something amazing with your birthday – you can donate or you can ask friends and family for donations instead of gifts and help us be there for every vulnerable child in the UK who needs us.

Your birthday could:

  • Help set up an emergency overnight accommodation project for young people sleeping rough
  • Help train foster carers to look after children who can’t stay with their own families because it isn’t safe
  • Help us support mothers facing severe post-natal depression

Why donate your birthday to Action for Children?

Right now we are supporting children who can’t live with their birth families, helping families recover from the trauma of abuse, preventing children from the dangers of homelessness and offering a lifeline to families in poverty. And because we make your birthday go further - for every £1 we spend, 92p goes directly towards helping children and families.
