A safe and nurturing therapeutic children's home in a beautiful rural setting.
A high standard of care is provided by staff, who all have positive relationships with my child. I feel he is safe in Tan y Bryn and I am thankful for all they do.
About the Service
Tan y Bryn is a therapeutic residential home for up to five children and young people aged 7–18 years. We provide medium and long-term placements for local authorities across North Wales and bordering counties. Our children often come to us having experienced early trauma, neglect, abuse, or exploitation, which can lead to challenges such as self-harm, attachment difficulties, anxiety, and low self-esteem.
At Tan y Bryn, we offer a warm, homely environment with realistic boundaries, where children can feel safe, valued, and supported to recover and thrive. Our model of care is rooted in attachment theory and trauma-informed practice. We work closely with therapists and a clinical psychologist to create tailored therapeutic plans. Every child has a dedicated Link Worker to coordinate care and ensure their voice is heard.
The home itself is a spacious, modern property with en-suite bedrooms, a large kitchen/diner, games room, and wrap-around garden featuring a summer house, poly tunnels, and outdoor play areas. We encourage hobbies, education, and community activities to help children build confidence and independence.
I wish I could live here forever and not leave at 18.
