Ty Fro is a therapeutic children’s home providing a calm and supportive environment where children can feel valued, understood, and cared for.
Ty Fro is a therapeutic residential home that provides care and support for up to four children and young people aged 7-18.
We support children who have experienced early trauma, neglect, abuse, exploitation, or significant disruption in their lives.
These experiences can lead to challenges such as anxiety, attachment difficulties, low self-esteem, and emotional or behavioural distress.
Ty Fro is a lovely home. They really care about the children.
Our approach is rooted in attachment theory and is trauma‑informed. We also practice the principles of Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) and Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy (PACE).
Every child has a dedicated staff member who coordinates their care, and helps them to build trusting and secure relationships.
Alongside this, we work closely with psychologists who support us in developing a Therapeutic Action Plan for each child.
These plans help our staff to understand what each young person needs, and what they've been through. This means that our staff can support them in a consistent, understanding and caring way.
Ty Fro is a warm and welcoming four‑bedroom home, where each room has its own private en‑suite bathroom, plenty of space for personal belongings, and a comfortable environment to relax and feel safe.
There is also a spacious garden for outdoor play, a cosy lounge for socialising, and dedicated chill-out areas where children can read and enjoy quiet time.
We encourage hobbies, education, and community involvement, helping children build confidence, independence, and a sense of belonging.
Ty Fro is one of the nicest homes I have lived in. It's my warm safe house.
Accessing the Service
All admissions are planned together with the local authority responsible for placing the child. This includes sharing information about the child and arranging an introductory visit for them and their family.
During the visit, they will meet with the Registered Manager and the child's Link Worker. We then create a gradual transition plan, which includes tea visits and overnight stays to help the child settle in.
Ty Fro does not offer emergency placements.
