Vale of Glamorgan Short Breaks

Vale of Glamorgan Short Breaks (known locally as Ty Robin) offers short breaks to children and young people with additional needs; between the ages of 6 and 17. In addition, we provide community sessions and Domiciliary Care.

We strive to be a home away from home and to offer opportunities to build friendships and independence.

We are regulated by Care Inspectorate Wales and work with the Child Health and Disability Team in Social Services to identify children and families who would benefit from our support.

Vale Short Breaks Short Breaks provides quality short term residential breaks throughout the year for the most vulnerable disabled children and young people from the age of 6-17 within the Vale of Glamorgan.

As a service, all breaks are regularly planned with the young people being in with up to 3 other young people depending on level of staffing required for the individuals.​

Ty Robin provides a nurturing and caring environment that focuses on each young person as an individual. Young people will have the opportunity to try new experiences, build relationships with their peers, develop positive behaviours, be emotionally and socially supported by a staff team with the training and skills to meet their care and support needs.

As a home we work with families and other professionals to ensure that families are confident that their child is safe and there is consistency in the support the young people they receive. ​

Ty Robin focuses on a child centered, outcomes basis that promotes independence at a level equal to their stage of development.

At Ty Robin, care provision is based on the following principles:​

• The needs, best interests and welfare of children and young people are paramount, and the focus of service provision should reflect this.
• The wishes and feelings of children/young people, including representations and complaints, should be respected, listened to and given full consideration.
• Children and young people should be protected from harm.

Mae Seibiannau Byr Bro Morgannwg (sy’n cael ei adnabod yn lleol fel Tŷ Robin) yn cynnig seibiannau byr i blant a phobl ifanc rhwng 6 a 17 oed sydd ag anghenion ychwanegol. Rydym hefyd yn darparu sesiynau cymunedol a Gofal Cartref.

Rydym yn ymdrechu i fod yn gartref arall i’r bobl ifanc a chynnig cyfleoedd i wneud ffrindiau a meithrin annibyniaeth.

Rydym yn cael ein rheoleiddio gan Arolygiaeth Gofal Cymru ac yn gweithio â’r Tîm Iechyd ac Anableddau Plant yn y Gwasanaethau Cymdeithasol i ganfod plant a theuluoedd a fyddai’n elwa ar ein cymorth.

Mae Seibiannau Byr Bro Morgannwg yn darparu seibiannau preswyl tymor byr o safon uchel drwy gydol y flwyddyn i’r plant a phobl ifanc anabl mwyaf agored i niwed rhwng 6 a 17 oed ym Mro Morgannwg.

Fel gwasanaeth, mae’r holl seibiannau’n cael eu cynllunio’n rheolaidd â’r bobl ifanc ac mae hyd at 3 o bobl ifanc eraill yn byw yno, yn ddibynnol ar lefel y staffio sydd ei angen ar gyfer yr unigolion.

Mae Tŷ Robin yn darparu amgylchedd gofalus a gofalgar sy’n rhoi sylw i bob person ifanc fel unigolyn. Bydd pobl ifanc yn cael y cyfle i roi cynnig ar gyfleoedd newydd, i feithrin perthnasoedd â’u cyfoedion, i ddatblygu ymddygiadau positif, i gael cymorth emosiynol a chymdeithasol gan dîm o staff sydd wedi’i hyfforddi i feddu ar y sgiliau i ddiwallu eu hanghenion gofal a chymorth.

Fel cartref rydym yn gweithio â theuluoedd a gweithwyr proffesiynol eraill i sicrhau bod teuluoedd yn hyderus bod eu plentyn yn ddiogel a bod cysondeb yn y cymorth mae’r bobl ifanc yn ei gael.

Mae Tŷ Robin yn rhoi pwyslais ar ddull canlyniadau sy’n canolbwyntio ar y plentyn i hybu annibyniaeth ar lefel sy’n cyfateb i gam eu datblygiad.

Yn Nhŷ Robin, mae’r gofal a ddarperir wedi’i seilio ar yr egwyddorion canlynol:

• Mae anghenion, buddiannau gorau a llesiant y plant a phobl ifanc yn dod o flaen popeth arall, a dylai’r gwasanaeth a ddarperir adlewyrchu hyn.
• Dylai dymuniadau a theimladau’r plant/pobl ifanc, gan gynnwys sylwadau a chwynion, cael eu parchu, eu clywed, a dylid rhoi ystyriaeth lawn iddynt.
• Dylai plant a phobl ifanc gael eu gwarchod rhag niwed.
