Nightstop Dorset

Reportage-02

“Supporting vulnerable young people who are at risk of, or are homeless across Dorset.”

Dorset Nightstop provides emergency accommodation for homeless young people aged between 16-25 years. The young people stay in the homes of carefully recruited, fully checked and trained volunteers who are supported by project staff. Accommodation is on a one night at time a time basis for a maximum of three nights.

Young people can expect:

• A free service
• An evening meal
• Washing facilities
• A room of their own for the night
• Breakfast
• A listening ear if needed
• A temporary safe environment
• A “breathing space” to allow them to get support and move towards finding more permanent accommodation
• A short term solution when other options aren’t available

Nightstop aims to keep young people in a safe, friendly environment while allowing agencies time to look at long term solutions to their homelessness. It is NOT a solution in itself.
